- 1 KG Icing Sugar confectioner's sugar
- 300 G Margarine
- 1 TSP Vanilla FlavorFlavor
- 1 TSP Butterscotch FlavorFlavor
- 2 - 4 TBSP Water or Milk
- Food-grade color Of your choice
Instructions
- Prep Your IngredientsMeasure out all the ingredients—except the food-grade coloring and water/milk—and place them on your work surface for easy access.
- Sieve and CombineIn a large mixing bowl, sieve your icing sugar to eliminate lumps. Add the margarine and gently mix with a spatula until the mixture forms a breadcrumb-like texture.
- Add Flavors and LiquidPour in the vanilla and butterscotch flavors, then add 1 tablespoon of water or milk. Mix thoroughly with your spatula to begin forming a cream.
- Whip the Buttercream (Electric Method)If using a stand or electric hand mixer, set it to the lowest speed and begin whipping the buttercream. Add water or milk 1 tablespoon at a time until you achieve a smooth, semi-thick consistency. Then switch to high speed and whip for an additional 2 minutes to make it light and fluffy.
- Mix Manually (No Mixer Option)If mixing by hand using a wooden spoon or whisk, continue adding water or milk 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing thoroughly each time, until a semi-thick, smooth buttercream is achieved.
- Test the ConsistencyTo check if your buttercream is perfect for covering cakes, insert a palette knife into the center of the mixture. If it leans slightly or shifts slantly, your buttercream is ready.You can thin it further for other uses or store it in an airtight container for later.
- How to Color Your ButtercreamScoop out a portion of the buttercream into a small mixing bowl. Add a small amount of food-grade coloring of your choice and mix until the color is well incorporated. Continue adding color until you reach your desired shade.
